Who these terms apply to

These terms govern any copywriting engagement between you (the "Client") and explainercopywriter, registered at Praceta de Angola 15, 2805-073 Almada, Portugal ("we," "us," "the Studio"). By booking a project through this site, by email, or by call, you agree to these terms.

Services

We provide project-based copywriting services as described on this site: Explainer Video Scripts, Landing Page Copy, Website Copy, Sales Page Copy, Email & Nurture Sequences, and SaaS & Product Messaging. Each project's exact scope, price, and timeline is confirmed in writing (by email) before work begins, based on the "from X" starting price published on the relevant service page and the brief you provide.

Engagement process

  1. You submit a brief (via the contact form, email, or a discovery call).
  2. We confirm scope, price, and timeline in writing.
  3. A deposit is due before drafting begins.
  4. We deliver a first draft, followed by revision rounds within the agreed scope.
  5. The remaining balance is due on delivery of the final, approved copy.
  6. We deliver final files once payment is received in full.

Fees & payment

Prices are stated in EUR on the relevant service page and confirmed in writing per project. Invoices are payable by bank transfer within 7 days of the invoice date. We reserve the right to pause work on overdue invoices until payment is received.

Revisions

Each service includes revisions until you approve the final draft, within the scope of the original brief agreed in writing. A change in direction, audience, product, or format beyond that original brief is treated as new scope and quoted separately before further work begins.

Intellectual property

Ownership of the final, delivered copy transfers to you upon payment in full. Until final payment is received, all drafts and work-in-progress remain the intellectual property of explainercopywriter. We retain the right to reference completed projects in our portfolio and marketing (including on the /work page of this site) in general, anonymised or client-approved terms, unless you request otherwise in writing.

Confidentiality

We treat any non-public information you share with us (product details, business plans, unreleased features) as confidential, and will not disclose it to third parties without your permission, except where required by law.

Liability

We provide copywriting services with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for how you use the delivered copy, for the performance of any campaign, page, or video built from it, or for claims arising from information you provided that turns out to be inaccurate. Our total liability for any claim arising from a project is limited to the fees paid for that specific project.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute arising from these terms or a project engagement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
