Common questions, answered plainly.
Scope, pricing, revisions, and delivery — the questions that come up before a project starts.
General
What does "explainer copywriting" mean, exactly?
Copy built to make something genuinely hard to explain click fast — video script, landing page, full site, sales page, email sequence, or product messaging. Every format runs through the same sequence: problem, mechanism, outcome.
Do you only work with SaaS companies?
Mostly, because that’s where "hard to explain" shows up most often — but any product with a genuinely non-obvious "how it works" fits the method, SaaS or not.
Do I need a finished product or a settled brand before I contact you?
No. Plenty of projects start pre-launch. What we do need is access to the product itself (a demo, a working build, a detailed spec) — not just a name and a tagline.
What if my product is genuinely hard to explain, even to me?
That's exactly what SaaS & Product Messaging is for. If your own team can't agree on the one-liner, that's the service to commission first — everything else gets easier once the foundation is settled.
Pricing & Scope
Why do you publish your prices instead of quoting after a call?
Because the services are scoped, not open-ended. Six services, six fixed starting prices — you know what you’re committing to before you talk to us.
What does "from €X" mean — will the final price change?
"From" is the starting price for the scope described on each service’s page. Bigger scope — more pages, a longer script, a longer sequence — is quoted up from there, agreed before work starts, never mid-project.
What's not included in the published price?
Anything outside the stated scope: extra pages beyond a Website Copy engagement’s six, video production or animation itself (we write the script, not the video), paid media management, and any work outside the six listed services.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes — a deposit secures your project slot and covers discovery and drafting; the balance is due on delivery of the approved final copy.
Process & Revisions
How many revisions do I get?
Revisions until you approve the work, within the scope of the original brief. A significant change in direction is treated as new scope, quoted separately.
What do you need from me to start?
Access to your product (demo, working build, or detailed spec), any existing copy or brand material, and one clear point of contact for feedback.
Do I need to get on a call first?
Not always. A detailed written brief works for most projects. A call helps most on SaaS & Product Messaging, where the discovery conversation itself often surfaces the disagreement the project needs to resolve.
What happens if I'm not happy with the first draft?
Tell us specifically what's not landing — we ask clarifying questions if a note is vague — and we revise. The engagement isn't complete until you approve the final draft.
Formats & Delivery
What file formats do you deliver in?
Copy docs (Google Docs or a shared doc format of your choice) for most services; explainer scripts are delivered with a formatted beat sheet alongside the script text.
Can you write to match our existing brand voice?
Yes — send existing copy or a style guide if you have one, and we'll write to it. If you don't have one yet, SaaS & Product Messaging builds that foundation as part of the engagement.
Do you work with agencies and production studios, not just direct clients?
Yes — Explainer Video Scripts in particular is available white-label for production companies and agencies who need a script partner inside their own pipeline.
Can you deliver faster than the timeframes listed on each service page?
Sometimes, depending on current workload — ask when you enquire and we'll tell you honestly whether it's possible for your project, rather than promise a date we can't hit.
