How the work actually happens.

No account-manager relay, no black box between the brief and the draft — here's the sequence, step by step.

The process, step by step

  1. 01

    Enquiry & scoping

You tell us what you’re trying to explain and which service fits. We confirm scope and price before anything is booked.

  2. 02

    Discovery call (or written brief)

A short call, or a detailed written brief if a call isn't practical — either way, we need to understand the product and the audience directly, not through a summary.

  3. 03

    Research & structure

Before a single line is written, we map the argument: the problem, the mechanism, the outcome, in the order your reader or viewer needs them.

  4. 04

    First draft

A complete draft, built from that structure — not a rough sketch to react to, a genuine first pass.

  5. 05

    Revision rounds

Your notes, worked in directly, until you approve the draft. We ask specific questions when a note is ambiguous rather than guessing.

  6. 06

    Delivery & handoff

Final copy, delivered in a format ready to use — a copy doc, a script with beat sheet, a message framework document — plus a short note on how to use it.

There's no brief handed to a junior writer and polished by someone senior later. The person who understands your product on the discovery call is the person who writes every draft.

What this means for you

Revision policy

Revisions are included until you approve the work, scoped to the original brief. If the brief itself changes significantly partway through — a different product, a different audience, a different format — that's treated as new scope and quoted separately, not folded into the existing price.

Communication

You'll hear from us at three points by default: after discovery (to confirm the brief in writing before drafting starts), on delivery of the first draft, and on final delivery. If you want more frequent check-ins on a longer engagement — the Website Copy or SaaS & Product Messaging services, for example — say so in the brief and we'll build that in.

What we need from you

Access to whatever's relevant — your product, a demo account, an existing site, a deck, a call recording — and one clear point of contact for feedback. Committee-by-committee notes slow every revision round down; one voice giving direction speeds it up.
